Advent calendar

Okay I finally finished. . .at picture time I didn't have all the numbers done, but well, you get the idea. . .

The idea started here: http://go.tipjunkie.com/ch/557/howsweeteritis.blogspot.com/2011/11/advent-calendar-teach-true-story-of.html

-------------------------------

I found this great unfinished wood advent calendar in the shape of a tree, painted it gold with some left over spray paint we had around the house.

I then did a gel transfer using modge podge and numbers printed out backwards.  See below.  Fonts are of course endless.  You can't really tell from this photo, but I choose a more antique style font.

Inside each little drawer is an object for Gray to pull out.  Each object helps tell the Christmas story.  This can be done with or without the scripture.  You can find the objects and corresponding scripture here http://go.tipjunkie.com/ch/557/howsweeteritis.blogspot.com/2011/11/advent-calendar-teach-true-story-of.html
We do a toddler friendly story for Gray with out the scripture.

All the items I either found around the house, or picked up cheaply at a local craft store.

Merry Christmas!
